If you want to use it as an emotion, you need to go to the Chat option on Facebook and add two square brackets”[[]]“. Now insert the profile ID in between them and press “Enter”. The image used on the profile page of this user has been included in the thumbnails of the chatting.

It is effective only in the web and when you open Facebook app on your mobile and your open chatting, it will not show you the profile picture of any of your friend and you will see only some specific codes instead of them. Yet, if you insert the same codes on your mobile Facebook app, you will see the image. When any of your contacts with whom you are chatting sees it, they will see an image instead of code.
